Mr. Quadri Agbolade Anibaba, PhD student at the Department of Ecology since March 2021, has been elected as a member of the International Association for Vegetation Science (IAVS) Young Scientists Section Steering Committee. IAVS is a worldwide union of scientists and others interested in theoretical and practical studies of vegetation. The IAVS Young Scientists Section was established in October 2014.
The main goals of the IAVS Young Scientists Section are:
- to promote connectivity between young scientists of the IAVS,
- to create a network to enhance personal and scientific communication between young scientists,
- to encourage young people to present their data, exchange experience and initiatives,
- to facilitate international research collaborations between young scientists,
- to serve as a support network for young scientists in vegetation science.
The Section defines young scientists as persons at an early stage in their career in vegetation science, regardless of age or enrollment status at a university. The Section is managed by the Steering Committee (SC) which is made up of 5 elected members and serve for 2 years. The goal of the Steering Committee is to promote the interests of the young scientists and supervise the section’s operations and scientific activities.
