Research focus:

I specialize in the ecology and biogeography of fungi associated with woody plants.

My main research interests include symbiotic associations, particularly the dynamics and structure of mycorrhizal fungal communities in forest nurseries and mature stands, as well as the ecological role of fungi in seedling growth and forest regeneration. I also investigate the spread and ecological impact of potentially invasive non-pathogenic fungi, using species distribution models to better understand the mechanisms of biological invasions.

My work also focuses on the biogeography of trees and fungi, especially how their distribution patterns respond to climate and environmental change.

An important part of my academic activity involves science communication, including public outreach and editorial work in both scientific and popular science journals.
