“Professor Maciej Giertych – a pioneer of Polish forest genetics”
The lecture will present the profile of Professor Maciej Giertych, an outstanding specialist in dendrology and an expert in tree physiology and genetics. Since returning from emigration in 1962, Professor Maciej Giertych has been associated with Kórnik and the Institute of Dendrology of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
On March 24, 2026, Professor Maciej Giertych celebrated his 90th birthday. On this special occasion, we invite you to a lecture dedicated to his scientific achievements and contributions to the development of forest genetics and forestry in Poland.
The lecture will take place in the seminar room of the Institute of Dendrology PAS.
