An international scientific conference was held in Torun in 2022, entitled. “Challenges for container nursery in the face of climate change”. Its organizers were the Directorate General of State Forests, the Regional Directorate of State Forests in Torun and the Dobrzejewice Forest District.

 

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the State Forests and the 100th anniversary of the Regional Directorate of State Forests in Torun, the materials from the conference - edited by Dr. Maciej Kuss, Head of the Department of Silviculture of the Regional Directorate of State Forests in Torun - were published in print. They are worth reading.

Among the eight papers presented in the conference materials, three chapters were prepared by employees of our Institute or with our participation:

  • Andrzej M. Jagodziński – “Consequences of tree root pruning in nursery production”,
  • Piotr Robakowski, Wojciech Kowalkowski, Władysław Barzdajn, Tomasz Wyka, Artur Jankowski, Emilia Pers-Kamczyc, Barbara Politycka – “Growth and physiological response of trees to regulated water deficit in forest nurseries”,
  • Ewelina Ratajczak, Joanna Kijowska-Oberc – "All hope in seeds. The importance of seed viability for nursery production in the context of climate change".
