Wolin National Park is located in the best-preserved area of the largest Polish island, which is situated between the Baltic Sea and the Szczecin Lagoon. The island's interior is primarily beautiful beech forests.

During the field excursion to Wolin National Park, we will present the main results of our studies on the diversity of fungal communities (primarily ectomycorrhizal and wood-inhabiting) in various types of beech forests. These studies were financed by two research grants from the General Directorate of the State Forests in Warsaw via Wolin National Park. Conference participants will become familiar with the most important results of our research and its methodology. Additionally, we plan to visit a European Bison Breeding Center and a Lake Turkusowe (Turquoise), both of which are among the Park's natural and tourist attractions.
