Research focus:
My research interests are focused on epigenetic gene expression in plants, particularly in the context of biotic and abiotic stress. I explore the way molecular signals, including nitric oxide, affect the structure of chromatin, and the activity of defence genes. I also deal with analysing mechanisms that allow plants to adapt to changing environmental conditions.
At present, as a post-doc at the Institute of Dendrology PAS, I am cooperating with prof. dr hab. Tomasz A. Pawłowski [Professor, PhD Habil.] to study the dormancy and germination of tree seeds, including common beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) whose seeds are characterised by deep physiological dormancy, requiring specific conditions to germinate.
The objective of my research is to understand how epigenetic changes affect plants' capability to adapt to climate change.
