Research focus:
My scientific activities are centred around research into plant ecology, dendrology and ecophysiology, with particular attention to the dynamics and functioning of trees and forests.
My interests include, among others, tree life strategies, regeneration processes in forest communities, the effect of climate factors on the growth and development of trees and the structure of tree populations. A vital part of my research is the analysis of interdependencies between morphological, anatomical and physiological characteristics of trees and their capacity to adapt to changing environment.
I am particularly interested in issues related to secondary sex dimorphism and toothed margins of leaf blades.
My work also has practical implications in the sphere of nature conservation and sustainable management of forest ecosystems, particularly research into the effect of European mistletoe on the functioning of forest ecosystems or the restitution of common yew in Poland.

Keywords:
forest ecology, dendrochronology, dioecious plants, mistletoe, common yew, analysis of leaf blade margins
