Research focus:

My scientific activity focuses on forest ecosystem ecology. My research primarily addresses biogeochemical cycles related to forest productivity, litterfall, and leaf-litter decomposition. In particular, I investigate decomposition rates across various ecological systems, with special emphasis on forest stands located in post-industrial and protected areas.
In recent years, I have concentrated on assessing the impact of leaf litter from alien tree species on forest ecosystem functioning.
Another area of my research concerns forest productivity, including participation in the development of stand biomass allocation models based on chronosequences of the main forest-forming tree species in Poland.
I am also interested in biodiversity patterns in relation to the degree of transformation of ecological systems.

Keywords:
leaf-litter decomposition, litterfall, forest productivity, biomass allocation, biodiversity, natural regeneration
