Dr. Francesco Latterini, PhD - offers mentoring for PhD candidates and early-career researchers in research planning and delivery, manuscript preparation (journal selection, manuscript structure, responses to reviewers), academic career development, scientific mobility with a focus on internationalization, and funding applications (funding opportunities, project concept, aims and hypotheses, methodology, timeline, risks, and proposal logic). He has experience as a principal investigator and co-investigator, including preparing several proposals to the National Science Centre, Poland (NCN); National Center for Research and Development (NCBR), Horizon Europe, Horizon 2020, Horizon MSCA, LIFE, COST Actions. He serves as an expert for the Latvia Council of Sciences. He has co-supervised three PhD theses; one completed and two ongoings. He completed an international research stay at Scion, the New Zealand Research Institute on Forestry. He has a strong publication record and peer-review activity in leading journals in ecology and forest sciences (e.g., Current Forestry Reports, Forest Ecology and Management, Land Degradation and Development, Catena).
