Indeed, 100 years ago, by the will of Władysław Count Zamoyski, his mother Jadwiga and his sister Maria, the Zakłady Kórnickie Foundation was established in our town. According to the Act of July 30, 1925 on Zakłady Kórnickie, the last owners of the Kórnik estates transferred all their property to the Polish nation. This act defined the objectives of the Foundation. And although the Foundation in its original form disappeared from the map of Poland for many years, since 2001 it has continued the traditions of the Foundation from the interwar period.
On June 16 of this year, the Kórnik Castle opened an exhibition entitled. "The Last Work of Władysław Zamoyski. 100 Years of the Zakłady Kórnickie Foundation", which brings closer not only the history of the Foundation, but also the history and present of the institutions that are an expression of the Count's will, and which for some time remained within the structure of the Foundation: Kórnik Library PAS, Institute of Dendrology PAS and Experimental Department PAS (Kórnik Nurseries).
The exhibition was opened by the directors of the above-mentioned institutions of the Polish Academy of Sciences: Dr. Magdalena Biniaś-Szkopek, Prof. UAM - director of the Kórnik Library PAS, Maria Skręt - director of the Experimental Department PAS, and Prof. Andrzej M. Jagodziński - director of the Institute of Dendrology PAS.
The exhibition can be viewed during the opening hours of the Kórnik Castle. You are cordially invited!
