On Wednesday, July 16 of this year, the employees of our Institute were honored with Medals for Long Service - state medals bestowed by the President of the Republic of Poland in recognition of exemplary, exceptionally conscientious performance of duties resulting from professional work in the service of the State.
The awards - on behalf of the President of the Republic of Poland - were made by Prof. Marek Konarzewski, President of the Polish Academy of Sciences, assisted by Prof. Andrzej M. Jagodzinski - Director of the Institute.
Prof. Marek Konarzewski expressed his heartfelt congratulations and appreciation to all the awardees for their long-standing and extremely dedicated work not only for the Institute, but also for the entire community of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He stressed that the high position of our Institute in the scientific community is the result of the diligent work of many people, and that the decorations awarded by the President of the Republic of Poland are an excellent proof of appreciation of our daily work and commitment.
Prof. Andrzej M. Jagodzinski said that it was with extreme joy and great pride that he accepted the decision of the President of the Republic of Poland on February 4, 2025, to award Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals for Long Service to the employees of our Institute. The President awarded the Medals to 36 people. The Director of the Institute stressed that these medals are a recognition of professionalism, reliability, as well as commitment and high ethical and professional standards, which our employees are guided by every day, fulfilling their professional duties. Wishing the decorated employees further professional success and prosperity in their personal lives, he expressed the hope that the decorations awarded will become an inspiration to take on further challenges, as well as a source of pride and motivation for the coming years of work.
After the employees were decorated with Medals for Long Service by Prof. Marek Konarzewski, the floor was taken by Ms. Katarzyna Broniewska, who, on behalf of the decorated employees, thanked the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the director of the Institute for the initiative taken, as well as warm and motivating words, which are of great importance for the Institute's employees.
At the end of the ceremony, the Institute's director addressed the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences with heartfelt thanks for his commitment and support for the efforts of the Institute's management to award state medals to the most deserving employees of our Little Homeland. On behalf of the Institute's employees, Prof. Jagodzinski presented the President with small gifts to remind him of this moment - a clone of the 800-year-old Rus oak tree, which is the result of research work conducted at the Institute on behalf of the Directorate General of State Forests in Warsaw, as well as the latest “Dendrology” by Włodzimierz Seneta and Jakub Dolatowski, published by the Polish Scientific Publishers PWN, the 14th edition of which is under the Honorary Patronage of the Institute of Dendrology of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
