Election of new members of the Polish Academy of Sciences took place on Thursday, June 26. In accordance with the Act on the Polish Academy of Sciences, members of the Academy are elected by the General Assembly of the Academy from among scholars who have distinguished themselves with special scientific achievements and authority in the scientific community, and have a good reputation. Membership of the Academy is for life. The body consists of no more than 350 scholars.

We are very pleased to announce that Dr. Francesco Latterini from the Department of Ecology has been awarded a scholarship from the Minister of Science and Higher Education for outstanding young scientists. Dr. Latterini was awarded a scholarship from the Minister of Science in the field of agricultural sciences and the discipline of forest sciences.

The Regional Forest Celebration, organized by the Regional Directorate of State Forests in Warsaw, was held on June 11 at the Center for Culture and Art in Siedlce. The event was held under the theme “Forests for a new 100th anniversary”.

We are proud to announce that on June 16, 2025. President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda handed out nomination acts to academic teachers and employees of science and art.

Among the nominees was an employee of our Institute - Prof. Tomasz Pawlowski.
